With the change of "Fast 8's" title into "The Fate of the Furious" and its first teaser trailer released on Friday, December 9, it's now time to get in gear! Avid followers of the action movie were left buzzing with excitement four months to its premiere date.
It has been more than a year and a half after "Fast 7" was released and dominated the box office. Now that "The Fate of the Furious" is about to hit the international screen, it certainly is going to be rather epic.
The official title of "Fast 8" is "The Fate of the Furious." It can be seen in the 15-second clip that Dom (Vin Diesel) and Hobbs (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) get behind the wheel in action-packed battles, whereas an armed Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) is ready for a takedown.
The Oscar winner, Charlize Theron's, badass Cipher makes her debut too and will be joining the cast as a villain. In the preview of "The Fate of the Furious," she shows off a slick ponytail and an even more impressive closet of weapons and bulletproof vests.
The stars joining the "The Fate of the Furious" are Jason Statham (Deckard Shaw), Jordana Brewster (Mia), Tyrese Gibson (Roman). Newcomers Scott Eastwood and Helen Mirren, whose characters have yet to be revealed, are also joining the gang.
As for the plot of "The Fate of the Furious," Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game. The rest of the crew has been exonerated. Dom and his crew somehow found a semblance of a normal life. But when Dom was seduced by a mysterious woman played by Charlize Theron into the world of crime he can't seem to escape, the globetrotting team is going to face trials that will test them as never before. The whole crew is dragged back into the game in order to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos in the world and bring home the man who made a family.
