Killer Instinct News: Art Book Shows Early and Possible Fulgore Designs, Fan Film Shows Jago Taking On Sabrewulf

Official Art Book Offers a Sneak Peek at Killer Instinct's Fulgore

Double Helix's Killer Instinct revamp launched exclusively as a free-to-play fighter for the Xbox One last week, and to mostly positive reviews, save for the game's limited roster, which offers Jago as the only free character, forcing gamers to pay for the remaining. While the game does boast at least one brand new character, it's still a limited roster compared to other fighters boasting upwards of two or three dozen characters, sometimes more. Die-hard fans were also disappointed that Cinder, T.J. Combo, and Fulgore keep the game's roster from being "complete" compared to the original. Luckily, Fulgore is on the way in March, but it's yet unknown if it's the same menacing cyborg that fans are familiar with. The game's official art book however is offering an interesting preview on the character due to arrive this March.

Pictures from the book popped up over at Double Helix's Games forum. The cyborg's blades now look more like a translucent plastic, and extend far beyond the robot's limbs. The design is considerably sleeker compared to the bulky design seen in its original appearance. The trademark ponytail and red glowing eyes are still there, which will no doubt be celebrated by fans. It's unknown if this is indeed what Fulgore could look like, but seems like a good possibility, especially when you look closer at his waist in the teaser. After all, a good deal of the game's other characters underwent a radical design shift, but still wound up completely recognizable.

You can take a look at the pics below.

With this being only early Winter, and Fulgore not arriving until early Spring, let's hope that the KI true believers are patient. More information is no doubt on the way, but that could be a while. In the mean time, how about a healthy distraction?

Nerd Reactor's own David Hoang is in the midst of working on a Killer Instinct fan film, with Jago set to square off against the rabid Sabrewulf. Like Fulgore, it'll be a while before we can lay our eyes on the whole thing, but here's a teaser for being such good boys n' girls.
