The show ended with an emotional rush scene of Dayanara "Daya" Diaz (Dascha Polanco) torn between pressure and intense feelings. Speculations are saying that in "Orange is the New Black Season 5" Daya will pull the trigger and take the life of CO Humphrey (Michael Torpey) while others say the opposite.
According to iDigital Times' prediction for "Orange is the New Black" Season 5, Daya won't take the shot, even though Polanco recently told The Hollywood Reporter, "I could see her pulling the trigger. Daya's definitely experiencing some postpartum depression. She might pull back and think about being a mother and not wanting to miss the opportunity of being with her child. But a woman going through postpartum - at that point, they're very fragile and very sensitive."
Even though season 4 might show Daya's transfer to a rougher crowd, it is unlikely that she'd throw her life away along with her possible newborn child instantly in "Orange is the New Black Season 5." Also both her mother and Gloria would be devastated with such rash mistake and we have yet to find out if she has a future with the father of her child, Benett.
Maria Ruiz (Jessica Pimentel) in the show revealed in season 4 that there was something big in store in "Orange is the New Black Season 5." It is reported that Maria's role has taken a new view as she has become a mob boss. We could now easily guess that she might be the reason tension could increase more inside the Litchfield. "If you're a boss, you don't get your hands dirty ever. So for Maria, it's like, 'Oh d--n, I'd like to shoot the guy. Daya, pick that gun up. I'm never going to get my hands dirty.' ... Maria has no reason to live at this point," she said.
The sadist Correctional Officer Thomas Humphrey (Michael Torpey) in might be shot by Daya in the hallway in . This could only be seen in the "Orange is the new black" Season 5. Maria was the girl who was seen and the officer was killed using the gun.
