PlayStation Plus and PlayStation App News: Sony Giving Out Free Games Like Resogun

PlayStation Plus Members Get Free Games for PS3, PS4, and Vita

If you grabbed yourself one of those nifty next-gen PlayStation 4 systems, now's about the time you should be happy about that free voucher for a 30-day free PlayStation Plus membership trial that came with it. Much like it has in the past, Sony will be making a few of its titles available to PS Plus members, and the company recently announced what games are coming in December.

Eurogamer reports that games are coming for both PS3, PS4, and PS Vita:

- PS4 owners get Resogun and Contrast for free, and a 20% off discount on Trine and 10% off Super Motherload until December 13
- If you have the PS4 version of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, you can get a free ship figurehead of Assassin's Creed: Liberation protagonist, the first female protagonist in the series, Aveline
- PS3 owners get Grid 2 and Guacamelee!
- PS Vita owenrs also get Guacamelee!, in addition to Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

No exact dates on when the games will be here, but their price should mean that a few items will be gratefully scratched off a few Christmas lists. The deals aren't over yet though.

Proving that you don't need a Vita to game on the go with Sony. The company is also giving out two free PlayStation Mobile games each week for the next five weeks, starting yesterday.

According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, "Between 27th November and 18th December 2013, and from 8th January to 22nd January 2014, you can download two fantastic free titles to play on your PlayStation Certified smartphone or tablet, or on your PlayStation Vita."

All you really need is the PlayStation Companion App, which is available as a free download from Google Play and the App Store for both Android and iOS devices respectively.

The first games out of the gate are:

- Passing Time, a "touch-controlled football game from the developer behind Frobisher Says! for PS Vita, and the upcoming Hohokum on PS4. Pass the ball and burn the opposition with a blistering fireball, prove your slow motion skills by mastering the rock ball and show off your one touch finesse with the explosive bomb ball."

- Rymdkapsel, "a relaxing, meditative strategy game set in the depths of space. It builds upon the legacy of Martins earlier games by requiring minimal user input, while needing highly strategic thinking to progress. You're tasked with building the best possible space station by commanding your minions to collect and utilise the different resources at your disposal."

The staff at the PS Blog will announce the rest of the games in due time, and we'll keep you posted once they do.
