'Friday the 13th: The Game' Release Date, News & Update: Tommy Jarvis Joins Roster of Playable Characters
Tommy Jarvis is a confirmed playable character in "Friday the 13th: The Game" and our newest protagonist is going to be portrayed by Thom Mathews. Jarvis sports a shotgun but it is unclear if he wields other weapons and abilities as well.
To recall, "Friday the 13th: The Game" poses the same setup with horrific movie that features Jason Voorhees where characters need to survive his murderous intent. Developers Illfonic and Gun Media already started the game with multiplayer setup. Seven camp counselors need to strategize their way out of Jason's terror while one of the players will play the murdering maniac, as we described earlier here at GameNGuide.
There was information that "Friday the 13th: The Game" was originally slated for release this month, although Illfonic decided to push back until undetermined date next year. This is due to persistent requests from players for solo gameplay, Game Spot reported.
Meanwhile, "Friday the 13th: The Game" did well in its Kickstarter campaign and it was able to breach the original target of $700,000. In fact, current standing placed the crowd-sourced fund at $100,000 more. Illfonic decided to source out necessary resources from players and fans instead of looking for publisher. It makes sense because developer wanted to retain some inseparable elements of the game like gore, mild nudity, etc.
So, are you ready to plan your way out of Camp Crystal Lake as you defend against Jason? Or probably, the idea of being Jason Voorhees is not a bad idea after all - you got to choose inventive way of lurking victims in this title. At any rate, "Friday the 13th: The Game" is not for weak of hearts.
How many of those game titles out there can compete with "Friday the 13th: The Game" when it comes to horror and brutality? I bet there are few so let us pack up and invade Crystal Lake in spring of 2017.
