Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag DLC News - Blackbeard's Wrath Goes Live Today

Assassin's Creed IV Gets its First Multiplayer DLC Today - Blackbeard's Wrath

Most of us are dealing with icey roads and snow covered driveways. But alas, the warm blue waters of the Caribbean are calling your name. Even if you can't fly there, you can still visit, and you have all the reason to do so as the first DLC for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag goes live today.

For those of you looking for an addition to the game's campaign, don't worry, that's coming next week in the form of Freedom's Cry. Meanwhile, today's DLC, Blackbeard's Wrath, is for you multiplayer madmen willing to slit your pal's throat over some buried booty (of the treasure variety, that other kind of booty is a different game).

There's no major additions the DLC brings in, save for three new characters to play as, two of which you'll recognize if you were fairly thorough in the game's campaign mode. Ubisoft has detailed each, so check 'em out below:

- Blackbeard (who saw that one coming?), wielding a sword and a short temper is not to be trifled with. His reputation as a feared pirate is justly received and his preferred kill moves include using his tremendous strength to throw his targets off balance and then quickly finishing them with one clean strike.

- The Orchid, a Templar-friendly deadly assassin grew up in China, serving as a military advisor in the Quing dynasty where she honed her murderous skills. She executes opponents swiftly and gracefully with her katana, an extension of her mind and body.

- The Jaguar, Cuali, an Aztec warrior from Mexico, took to the sea to fight against the Spanish conquest of Central America. A fighter, he survived the destruction of his community and joined forces with a growing contingency of native Templars who sought renewed peace and order. Driven by a mystical force, The Jaguar fights like his namesake, striking swiftly and quietly with his preferred weapon, a discreet axe.

The pack also adds in a few new trophies, which you can check out below:

Elevator to the Gallows - Kill a player using a lift that has been trapped with Booby Trap
Preemptive Strike - Playing as The Orchid, block 10 abilities from opponents with Sabotage
Queen Anne's Revenge - Playing as Blackbeard, perform an acrobatic kill and a gun kill in less than 10 seconds
Sacred Land - Playing as The Jaguar, be the highest scoring player of a Domination game session

The DLC hits all versions of the game - PS4, PS3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 - today, but there's no word on when the Wii U versions will get a hold of it. It's $2.99 for everyone without the Season Pass.
