"Homeland" Season 6 might be far from today's political reality as Donald Trump is now the newly elected U.S. president. However, the show will still try its best to carry a touch of the country's current events that will be easily relatable to its viewers.
As the coming of "Homeland" Season 6 is now getting nearer and nearer, the show added a new start in its roster. Jake Weber is set to join the American political thriller television series as Brett O'Keefe, a hostile but charming anarchist, according to Hollywood Reporter.
The role of Jake Weber is set to be part of Alt-right "a loose group of people with far right ideologies who reject mainstream conservatism in the United States" in "Homeland" Season 6. This will mark the return of the 52-year-old actor on the small screen after his stints in "Tyrant" and "Hell on Wheels" and many more television shows.
Meanwhile, "Homeland" Season 6 is now filming in New York. The show is about to reveal the events after the presidential election featuring the Inauguration Day. As mentioned, it will have a new female president that would be played by Elizabeth Marvel.
It was also recently reported that a lot of television series today are depicting the terrorist attacks happening all over the world. With that, some deem it is connected with the Muslims showing a negative implication with other races. This theme will definitely be avoided in the coming "Homeland" Season 6, per its co-creator Howard Gordon.
The linking of terrorist attacks to the Muslim people is a big insult to this race. In fact, this gives them a bad representation not only on the small screens but in reality. With that, Gordon was asked if he is worried that "Homeland" Season 6 would add up xenophobic attacks against Muslims.
"The short answer is, absolutely, yes," he said at the roundtable. However, he promised that this wouldn't be the case in the coming installment. "Homeland" Season 6 will air on Jan. 15 on Showtime.
