Don't Starve PS4 Release Date: Hits Tomorrow, Free For PS Plus

Don't Starve Hits PS4 Tomorrow, Free for PS Plus Subscribers

As reported last month, Playstation Plus is kicking off the new year in style. For the first Tuesday release date of the month Sony has announced that PS4 subscribers to the service will be able to download the indie hit Don't Starve. Besides that, PS3 owners can also download the critically acclaimed DmC Devil May Cry tomorrow! It's a helluva way to start the month.

"Don't Starve: Console Edition is an uncompromising wilderness survival game full of science and magic. You play as Wilson, an intrepid Gentleman Scientist who has been trapped by a demon and transported to a mysterious wilderness world. Wilson must learn to exploit his environment and its inhabitants if he ever hopes to escape and find his way back home."

Don't Starve is a terrific game on PC, hard as hell but the kind of game that lets you feel like you're constantly learning new things and getting farther and farther every time as you explore the world. You start from simply collecting wood for fire and food to survive (listen to the title of the game!) to crafting all manner of weapons and structures, staying alive longer and exploring that much more of the world. It should be a great title for the PS4 and a perfect way to kick off all the indie love that's coming to the system.

DmC Devil May Cry was developed by Ninja Theory (Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West) and didn't sell as many copies as Capcom had hoped, altough the word was that it was exactly the kind of revamp the series needed.

Unfortunately for anyone who waits for PS Plus sales, there's not much in the way of subscriber discounts this week the sole offering being Streetkix: Freestyle for $10.79 instead of $11.99. A whole buck! You can also download a new game called Home Tycoon in Playstation Home, if any of you still actually use that glorified chat room, or remember that it exists.

But regardless, Playstation Plus subscribers will once again find a week that makes the service entirely justifiable. Upcoming weeks this month will offer Bioshock Infinite, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and Worms: Battle Island, so hopefully you're all staying in from the cold and ready to play a ton of games.
