Apple Watch 2 Series Latest News & Update: Software Update WatchOS 3.1.1 Reported Bricking; Will Issue A Recall And Full Refund?

This week Apple has been forced to pull back its lateswatchOS update. Users have been complaining that it had bricked their Watch Series 2.

Apple's watchOS 3.1.1 update has been released last week but can no longer be available for download as it was reported to brick some Apple Watch devices. Affected watches are reported to display a red exclamation mark which then instructs users to visit the support website of Apple.

According to the reports, users being affected were mostly using Apple Watch Series 2. Issues began when watchOS 3.1.1 update gets stuck on the circular progress bar. Hence old models don't appear to be affected to the problem.

Apple Watch Series 2 owners were then advise to perform a restart by holding it down the its side button and its Digital Crown."If this doesn't un-bork the smartwatch, Apple says it will need to be taken in for service," The Inquirer explained. However most of the cases appear to have lacked a specific reason as to why such device bricked during such software update of which coming from those who reported that they have not even touched or even interacted with such device.

Moreover, most users have discovered that they will have to send their devices back to Apple so that these can be replaced. Apple retail store cannot offer any service for its problem.

To fix this certain issue, "the Apple Watch has to be restored through the device's small diagnostic port, which Apple Stores don't cover," Mac Rumors explained. Now, users being affected by this problem can either visit an Apple Store so it can be shipped and be replaced, or perhaps they can visit Apple's website support for them to begin the replacement process.

Apple hasn't commented yet on such controversy. It is also worth the note that there are also a plenty of Apple Watch Series 2 owners who have updated and have downloaded watchOS 3.1.1 without any problems. Does this seem to suggest that Apple should launch a recall and a full refund?
