'Tokyo Ghoul' Season 3 Air Date, News & Update: Third Season Cancelled? Anime's Future Remains Bleak Due To Management Issues?

The eventual continuation of the anime adaptation of "Tokyo Ghoul" has already been expected after the massive success of its first and second installments. But for some jinxed stroke of luck, the third season of the famous anime has been put into peril as of late as surfacing speculations of cancellation have begun to emerge. Will 'Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 survive these rumors and see the light of its day?

Previously, "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 has already been awash with glowing reports that it will premiere its third offering in 2016. But 2016 is almost done and the show is still nowhere to be found. The purported reason for the delay has been attributed to the show's current management or mismanagement if one must go further.

According to Traveler's Today, "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 is being transferred from Studio Pierrot to Madman Entertainment. While this appears to be a fluid development for the show as the latter has been known for handling equally successful iterations such as "One-Punch Man" and "Death Note," the same couldn't be said about the manner it is now being transitioned.

Another fatal reason for the delay which also snowballed now into cancellation is the fact that only a few people are behind the season 3 of "Tokyo Ghoul." The apparent understaffing in the show is causing the development of the anime to go even slower. As such, the source material for the forthcoming season has also been questioned as it couldn't merit to produce an entire single season.

On the other hand, Ishida's involvement in the anime series "Hunter X Hunter" has also come to the limelight as a probable reason as to why "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 is painfully developing at the moment. It is surmised that the creator's association with the series is producing an otherwise hectic schedule for him to get involved with "Tokyo Ghoul."

The anime adaptation of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3, if to be aired, will be sourced from Sui Ishida's manga series. The manga material has already generated 18 million copies as of June 2016. Meanwhile, the final volumes of the English manga version will be released on Aug. 15, 2017.
