Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, Moto M News & Update: Know Differences Between 3 Smartphones; Nougat Update Now Rolling, New OS Coming

Motorola Mobility is now making its name again and actually being dubbed as the new-age Asus. With the emergence of the Moto E3 Power, Moto G4 Play, Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto M, the Lenovo-owned company is now surfacing.

Three of the most sought-after smartphones from Motorola are the Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and the newly released Moto M. As it is almost identical in name and has two versions, here are the differences between the three.

The Moto M has a USB Type-C for charging and data syncing and has a fingerprint scanner on the rear area, unlike the Moto G4 Plus. It also has a bottom-firing speaker compared to the Moto G4 and its bigger version, according to India Today.

All of the Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto M have a 5.5-inch 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display and 401ppi pixel density. However, only the Moto M is equipped with a MediaTek Helio P15 processor that is 64-bit octa-core clocked at 2.2GHz with 4 GB RAM. It is actually the first smartphone that carries the said processor.

The Moto M, too, is available with two storage options, 32 GB and 64 GB. It also has a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and single LED flash. However, the Moto G4 Plus carries a dual-LED (dual tone) flash.

Lastly, the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are powered by a 3,000mAh battery while the Moto M has a larger capacity with 3,050 mAh battery. However, the three smartphones all support fast charging.

Meanwhile, the Moto users are now waiting for over the air update for their smartphones, Mobi Picker noted. Motorola Deutschland recently announced that some of the Moto phones are going to be updated with Android 7.0 Nougat this December.

In fact, some of the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus devices in India now received its Nougat update with the name NPJ25.93-11. This is believed to be the final build for the Moto G4.

The Brazil users, on the other hand, are now slowly receiving their Nougat updates for the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. As not everyone receives it yet, most of them are set to catch the update by the end of the year. The Moto M, however, will have a new OS.
