'Resident Evil 7' Latest News & Update: New Demo Features Denuvo Anti-Tamper, Goodbye Cracked & Pirated Copies
Game developer Capcom is toying with Denuvo for "Resident Evil 7," an anti-tamper technology that makes software impossible to crack. It appears that "Resident Evil 7" is well aware of huge possibility that AAA games such as theirs need certain type of protection from cracks and piracy.
Let us explain first how "Resident Evil 7" can pull off this anti-tamper technology behind "Resident Evil 7." Denuvo is not in any way performance enhancer for the game but a program that sets additional layer of protection against cracks and piracy. "Resident Evil 7" will then have a security system that continuously encrypts and decrypts data stored on any media.
What is unclear for now is if "Resident Evil 7" will install Denuvo anti-tamper on the hardware itself or if it is going to be a cloud-based defense that will work online. At any rate, "Resident Evil 7" is not the first game to sport Denuvo. "Dragon Age: Inquisition" of Electronic Arts also used anti-tamper to shield their Online Access.
While "Resident Evil 7" might be sporting the latest in Denuvo anti-tamper, the security company acknowledge that every protected game eventually gets cracked - including "Dragon Age: Inquisition." Although there is a high possibility that "Resident Evil 7" might take a bit longer to breach as was the case of "Dragon Age: Inquisition."
"Resident Evil 7" found a nice way to avoid getting duped or cracked but Denuvo works on PC versions only. It comes with several other PC-exclusive features as well like arbitrary screen resolution that can be tweaked for tailor fit effect on any monitor size. Nvidia G-Sync will work with "Resident Evil 7" being played on monitors with high refresh up to 144Hz too, DSOGaming reported.
Now about "Resident Evil 7" performance, PC versions will have uncapped frame rate. Apart from standard 30fps and 60fps, variable mode can be tapped for realistic gameplay. In fact, "Resident Evil 7" also has customizable texture quality and filtering to accentuate this feature.
