New Batman Game To Be Revealed This Week?

Hush Eyed as Big Baddie for Next Batman Game, Possible Reveal This Week

Batman: Arkham Origins was an interesting experiment while Warner Bros. Montreal had the reigns, but looking at the ratings, it just didn't measure up to what Rocksteady had done with the first two games, so it should come as good news that the developer is back in for the next game, and if the rumors are true, we could see an official reveal from the company this week.

Kotaku is claiming an unnamed GameStop employee as a source, who reported that this week, the mega retailer will start displaying a number of promotional materials for a new Batman game, which include a banner and poster. Furthermore, a NeoGAF user also took note of a tweet from a Dutch journalist who had attended a Rocksteady press junket. While it could be possible that the junket was for a whole other game, attendees had to adhere to an embargo with an ending date that coincides with GameStop's timetable to display the posters.

As for what the new game holds, there's even less information to go on, especially considering the enormous rogues gallery of enemies the caped crusader has built over the years. One theory circulating is that the game could heavily involve Bruce Wayne's childhood friend and renowned Dr., Thomas Elliot, better known as the brilliant tactician Hush.

The character's comic debut in the eponymous story arc by writer Jeph Loeb and artist Jim Lee is considered one of the best Batman graphic novels to date, and definitely worth a read.

The main source of the rumor isn't exactly unreliable, but considering it's definitely obscure, there's unfortunately some room for error. A number of other outlets are giving the Hush rumor a lot of credit based solely to a lesser known Facebook page, Batman: Hush, which recently posted a picture of the bandaged bad boy with the words, "Remember a little appearance by somebody in Arkham City? Well things may be abut to get more interesting next month..."

Keep in mind that once the Hush missions were completed in Arkham City, Batman said he would deal with the villain later, leaving the possibility open that the character could return in a future game.

We'll keep you posted when the reveal happens. For those of you still enjoying Origins, a DLC starring Mr. Freeze was recently announced, and is slated to release in April.
