BioWare Cancels 'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Multiplayer Tech Test

BioWare recently relayed some unfortunate news for eager fans of "Mass Effect: Andromeda". It appears that the developer has decided not to push through with its previously announced multiplayer beta test. Reports have seemingly confirmed that several players have already registered for the event through the official website. It seems that those early registrants won't have anything to tide them over until the game officially launches.

However, the developer has decided to make the trial accessible for the public instead. They are reportedly allowing players to try out the game within a live setting during the PAX East event. Reports have confirmed that the company will prepare 12 PCs pre-installed with the game. It will run daily from 10 a.m. to 0 p.m. throughout the duration of the show, says Game Rant. Console players can also take the game for spin at the Microsoft booth, which is going to be located in room 2AB.

Xbox One players should look for BioWare Base to make it easier for representatives to guide them towards the playa area. The developer has only revealed a few details about the multiplayer mode in "Mass Effect: Andromeda". The only aspect confirmed so far is that it will be a cooperative setting instead of PVP. It has yet to be confirmed if the mode will be like the one in "Mass Effect 3" or like "Dragon Age: Inquisition", which is more of a dungeon crawl.

Gamespot reports that the co-op mode will be tied to the single-player campaign in a certain way. One of the game's producers, Fernando Melo also teased that there are to announce about the game mode soon. The developers also have something in store for fans who visit their booth will be given a chance to try the RC Nomad toy for a spin. Moreover, the developers will be available to answer fans' questions.

BioWare has announced that the "Mass Effect: Andromeda" special livestream event will start by 2 p.m. EST during the first day in PAX East. The development team is expected to showcase new gameplay and more. Some fans speculate that more multiplayer information will also be revealed. The game officially launches on March 21, 2017 for the PS4, PC and Xbox One. However, players with Origin Access and EA Access will be able to play the game earlier.
