Aside from surviving by gathering resources, building shelters, crafting equipment, and fending off wild animals, players in Icarus will also need to clear a set of Prospect Missions in order to progress in the multiplayer online survival game.

One of them is the "Avalance: Expedition" Prospect Mission, which lets them clear an avalance before exploring the Arctic biome. The said mission will also let them use several equipment that are under the tech tree's Tier 4.

Preparations

Much like the other Prospect Missions in Icarus, players need to prepare first the equipment that they need for the "Avalanche: Expedition" mission, especially considering that they will be venturing in the Arctic biome, where aside from the cold, snowy weather, they will also encounter wild animals like bears and wolves.

According to eip.gg, they need to craft the basic tools such as a bow with its arrows, as well as a knife and a pickaxe. They will also need to gather materials in order to craft the bedroll, which they can as a spawn point.

They will also need to unlock have the unlocked blueprints for equipment such as ones for the crafting and machining benches, the stone furnace, the anvil bench, the cement mixer, the concrete furnace, the fabricator, the electricity tool, the biofuel composter, and the biofuel generator. Most of these blueprints can be unlocked after reaching either Tier 3 or Tier 4.

They will also need to have the blueprints for craftable materials such as ones for the epoxy (2 sulfur ores, 4 tree saps or crushed bones), the carbon paste (1 silica, 1 aluminum ingot, 4 organic resins, 2 epoxies), the steel bloom (6 iron ores or 3 iron ingots, 1 coal), the electronics (1 gold ingot, 3 copper ingots, 2organic resins, 2 epoxies), and the biofuel can (25 iron ingots).

Venturing the Cold

Once they prepared everything that they need in their adventure, they will begin their journey towards the Arctic biome, starting with gathering several materials and resources.

According to TechRaptor, they must first mine several minerals in the cave, such as iron, gold, aluminum, and copper. But first, they need to construct a temporary shelter with campfire and bedroll, as well as a stone furnace to smelt ores.

But they need to keep in mind that they need to avoid the cave worms that are inside the cave as their spit can inflict damage, poisoning them in the process. They must also be careful in staying inside the area as its atmosphere can give them pneumonia, and can decrease their stamina.

Once they got the materials needed, they can now craft the items needed for several equipment and structures, including the biofuel composter, which they can use the machining bench to do so.

After building the said equipment, they can craft the biofuel can, then place it inside the composter along with tree sap and other materials such as wood, and fill it up to its maximum.

Then, using the Fabricator, they will build both the biofuel generator and the electricity tool, both of which are critical items in the mission. Once they got the items, along with other equipment such as a bow and arrow, they head towards the Arctic Pass.

But before going there, they need to retrieve the Prototype Weapon, which is inside a Supply Pod. The said pod is on top of a mountain cliff within the point F7.

In order to reach the said point, they need to build at least 3 or 4 wood ramps to make a staircase. Once they got the item, they will continue proceeding towards the area.

As they traverse towards the Arctic Pass, they need to be on a look out for bears and wolves, as they might attack them at any time. In order not to let this happen, they need to snipe them down first with their bow and arrow.

Once everything is cleared, they will build a temporary build a base, and then the biofuel generator inside. They will fuel it up using the biofuel can, but they cannot turn it on yet.

Afterwards, they will go towards a rock where they will deploy the weapon, and using the Electricity Tool, they will run a wire from its base to the generator itself. Once everything is set-up, they will place the Prototype Cannon on the said rock, then connect the wires to it.

Then, they will turn on the biofuel generator, then they will activate the weapon in order to shoot the avalanche. Once it is destroyed, they will be facing mammoths, which they need few seconds to react.

To avoid their attacks, they must go back to their bases, and start shooting them. They must eliminate three of them in order to proceed towards the marked area in the map, which is within the point I7.

Once they have reach it, they have completed the mission, and need to run back towards the Dropship to return home.
