TiMi Studio Group and The Pokemon Company released the patch notes for Pokemon Unite's Patch 1.3.1.7 Update, which reveals the addition of a new Pokemon, as well as balance changes.

The said new Pokemon, Dragonite, will expand the Pokemon-themed multiplayer online battle arena's roster, while the said patch update will give nerfs and buffs to several of them.

Introducing Dragonite

As mentioned earlier, Dragonite is included in Pokemon Unite courtesy of its Patch 1.3.1.7 Update.

The Dragon-type Pokemon, according to a post in the game's webpage in the Pokemon website, is an All-Rounder that can unleash "twisters, comets, fire, water, and electricity" towards its opponents.

Once they chose the said Pokemon, they will begin the match as Dratini, then it will evolve into Dragonair at Level 5, then it became Dragonite at Level 8.

During Levels 1 and 3, Dratini can learn Twister, which can create a twister that can deal damage to any opposing Pokemon it hits, while reducing their movement speed for a short time, and Dragon Breath, which can boost its next basic attack if it hits an opposing Pokemon.

Once it evolves into Dragonair at Level 5, according to Clutch Points, Twister can be upgraded to either Dragon Dance or Extreme Speed.

The former can make it move towards a designated direction, while increasing its damage dealt, movement speed, and attack speed for a short time.

During the move's time period, when its attacks hit an opposing Pokemon, it will reduce the move's cooldown, and if they used it, Dragonair's damage dealt will be increased up to three times.

The latter, on the other hand, will make it leap towards a targeted opposing Pokemon, throwing it in the process and dealing damage to other Pokemon that are in the area of effect. It will also decrease their movement speed for a short time.

At Level 8, Dragon Breath can be upgraded to either Hyper Beam or Outrage.

The former will make it aim at a target opposing Pokemon, charging up power, and then unleash a beam that can deal damage to not only deal basic damage, but also deals additional damage that is equal to a set percentage of its max HP.

The latter, on the other hand, will stomp the ground in rampage, dealing area of effect damage. After the move was made, its basic attacks and attack speed will be boosted. However, much like Hyper Beam, Dragonite will not able to move while doing Outrage.

Finally, its Unite Move, Draco Impact, which will be learned once Dragonair evolves into Dragonite at Level 9, will make it fly high into the air before crashing down with several comets, dealing damage to opposing Pokemon in the area of effect, while being immune to hinderances. The farther it flies, the more the move's gauge is consumed.

Balance Changes

Aside from Dragonite's addition to its roster, the Patch 1.3.1.7 Update also brought in several balance changes for several Pokemon in Pokemon Unite.

According to ESTNN, the patch update buffed the stats of Slowbro's Oblivious, while it now also helps it restore HP when hitting other Pokemon, and decreases their Special Defense for a short time. The update also increased the Scald's damage from 2042 to 2163, while it increased its effects.

Decidueye's Spirit Shackle has its cooldown reduced from 9 seconds to 7 seconds, while its Leaf Storm can now deal more damage at a two second lower cooldown and has an added long push back.

Pikachu's Thundershock and Volt Tackle will have its damage increased, and its Thunderstorm Unite Move will have a higher charge rate, while Cinderace's Blaze King will have its strengthened effects, and it can make it jump in a specific direction after doing it. The update also reduced Feint's cooldown.

When it comes to nerfs, the patch update reduced the damage from Zeraora's Spark, while it increased the cooldown of Gardevoir's Moonblast, and the damage from its Psyshock was reduced.

Other Pokemon that received balance changes include Venusaur, Wigglytuff, Eldegoss, Crustle, and Tsareena.
