miHoYo revealed few days ago the details regarding the new additions that the Version 2.4 Update will bring in Genshin Impact, including the two new characters that its players can add in their party - Yun Jin and Shenhe.
Another in-game addition that the said version update will give to the multiplayer online role-playing game is a new region in Teyvat, namely Enkanomiya.
The said new region, which is an island that is hidden within underwater, will hold new mysteries that they will unfold, along with new gameplay mechanics, and monsters that they will encounter while venturing in the said area.
New Gameplay Mechanics
One of the mechanics that the players will encounter once they visit Enkanomiya is its unique daytime and nighttime settings.
According to Gurugamer, the said area uses an artificial light source called the Dainichi Mikoshi considering that the place does not have a day or night due to it being hidden from direct sunlight.
Players can use the special mechanisms in the area that are linked to said light source, the Whitenight and the Evernight, in order to change its time cycle. These functions will be unlocked after they obtained the Golden Brindle of Enkanomiya by clearing several story missions.
Once they have unlocked them, they will use said mechanisms to solve puzzles in order to continue exploring across Enkanomiya.
If any one of these mechanisms that are currently damaged, then they will switch the time state, it will automatically repair itself. However, it will reset the puzzles that they are solving withing area, which means they to solve it again from scratch.
Another added gameplay mechanic in the new region are the Ghostfishes. According to Moro Esports, these animals can be used as a vehicle in order to for them to move around the map, as well as an air transport, which it enables them to fly anywhere.
To use them, they must dive into a school of Ghostfishes and they can now help them glide upward. But they need to be careful in using them as they will reduce their Health points as long as they are travelling with these fishes.
Other added in-game mechanisms that are present in Enkanomiya includes the Places of Essence Worship, where it will give buffs to the players depending on the area's current time state, and Key Sigils, which can release the seals that matches them.
New Monsters
Aside from the new mechanics, Genshin Impact players who are travelling in Enkanomiya will also encounter new monsters that they need to defeat.
One of which are the new set of Specters, which according to Give Me Sport, will attack them with either Electro, Cryo, or Pyro-based attacks. They are also immune to attacks that has the same elemental type as they are.
Aside from that, according to Sportskeeda, they will acquire "Fury" once they were hit by a powerful attack. Once triggered, it will grow larger and stronger.
They will also explode once they are defeated, which can deal Elemental Damage based on their Elemental Type.
The Bathysmal Vishaps, another new monsters in the game, are predators that are lurking in the murky depths of the region, adapting to an unknown power source that is within the deepest part of the seas.
These monsters can become formidable foes to those who are facing them as they can unleash an attack called the "Cleansing Shower," which it can deplete their Elemental Energy, or their Health if they did not have Elemental Energy.
