'Pokemon Go' Power Plant Event Guide: Which Pokemon Will Be Appearing in the Wild, During Raids + Will They Have Shiny Versions?

Niantic announced that Pokemon Go will have its "Power Plant" event, giving the Trainers the opportunity to catch Electric-type Pokemon that stayed frequently in power plants within Kanto and Kalos regions, including one that will mark its debut.

Much like the other past events in the open-world augmented reality mobile game, these Pokemon will be appearing in the wild more frequently, as well as in the Raids.

Aside from that, they will Pokemon that will be appearing as rewards after accomplishing a set of event-exclusive Field Research Task.

Enter the Power Plant

As mentioned earlier, there are several Electric-type Pokemon that will be appearing more frequently in the wild during the Power Plant event, including a debuting Helioptile, the Electric/Normal-type Pokemon.

According to a post in the game's website, Trainers will encounter the Generator Pokemon along with Magnemite, Voltorb, and Electabuzz.

Aside from them, Grimer, Porygon, and Trubbish will be appearing in the wild more frequently from January 19th at 10:00 AM, local time, until February 1st at 10:00 AM, local time.

If they are lucky enough, they might encounter not only their Shiny Versions, with the exception of the debuting Helioptile, but also Electrode and Jolteon.

In terms of Raids, according to Nintendo Wire, Pikachu, Beldum, Shinx, Blitzle, and Klink will be in the 1-Star Raids.

On the other hand, two sets of Pokemon will be rotating during the event's 3-star Raids as Scyther, Typhlosion, Mawile, and Druddigon will appearing in the said Raid until January 24th at 10:00 AM, local time, while Dewgong, Piloswine, Monferno, and Druddigon will be appearing in a separate set from January 24th at 10:00 AM, local time, until February 1st at 10:00 AM, local time.

Shock Drive Genesect will still be appearing in the 5-Star Raids until January 24th at 10:00 AM, local time.

Replacing the Bug/Steel-type Mythic Pokemon is Regice, the Ice-type Legendary titan Pokemon, who will be appearing in the said Raids from January 24th at 10:00 AM until February 1st at 10:00 AM, local time.

Like the Pokemon that they will encounter in the wild, they will also might encounter a Shiny version of said Pokemon during their respective raids, if they are lucky enough, and they can even make their captured Shock Drive Genesect and Regice learn new moves.

For the former, they will make it learn the Techno Blast Charged Move, while the latter will learn the Thunder Charged Move.

They will also have a chance to encounter even more Pokemon as they can take the event-exclusive Field Research Tasks, where they need to complete in order to win encounter with Magnemite, Voltorb, Electrike, Joltik, and Helioptile.

If they are lucky enough, not only that they will encounter their Shiny versions, excluding Joltik and Helioptile, but they will also have a chance to meet with Alolan Grimer, Trubbish, and Emolga, including the Shiny versions of the first two Pokemon.

Aside from the Power Plant event, Niantic also announced another event in Pokemon Go where Giovanni and the rest of Team GO Rocket returns to the game starting January 24th at 12:00 AM, local time. However, the developers did not revealed any further details regarding the event.

According to Dot Esports, the criminal syndicate will be seen the PokeStops more often, as well as in their balloons, during the said event. Trainers are also be given a chance to use a Charged TM to help any Shadow Pokemon in their possession forget the Frustration Charged Attack.
