The developers of Pokemon Unite released the patch notes for the Pokemon-themed multiplayer online battle arena's Patch 1.4.1.2 Update, which adds in a new Pokemon in their ever-growing roster, the Ghost/Grass-type Elder Tree Pokemon, Trevenant.

Aside from the said addition, the patch update also brought in a long list of balance changes to the Pokemon that is included to the said roster, including tweaks for their moves.

Enter Trevenant, the Elder Tree Pokemon

As mentioned earlier, Trevenant will be added in Pokemon Unite's roster courtesy of its Patch 1.4.1.2 Update. According to a post in the Pokemon website, the Elder Tree Pokemon will be entering the game as a Melee Defender that can cast fear to its opponents thanks to its moves.

At the start of the match, it will begin as Phantump that has the Will-O-Wisp and Branch Poke at Levels 1 and 3.

The former will make the Pokemon shoot flames that can deal damage to the opposing Pokemon that will be hit while leaving them burned for a short time.

The latter, on the other hand, will make it deliver a jab in a designated direction, dealing damage to the opposing Pokemon that will be hit while its movement speed will be decreased for a short period of time.

Once Phantump reached Level 5, it will be evolved into Trevenant, giving them two new moves that will be upgrading Will-O-Wisp.

Wood Hammer will make it pull back its arms in order to commence the skill, damaging any opposing Pokemon directly while pulling them towards itself. If it deals damage to at least one Pokemon, it will slam down a giant wooden hammer, damaging it further while leaving them Incapacitated for a short time.

However, those who are controlling Trevenant need to be cautious while using this move too often as it will consume a set amount of its HP.

On the other hand, Curse will allow Trevenant to exchange its portion of HP to create a curse zone, where it will damage the opposing Pokemon who were caught in it while their movement speed will be decreased. The lower the HP, the more movement speed it decreased.

While using said move, Trevenant will store Curse Power every time it deals or takes damage. Once it stored enough Curse Power, it can release it in order to deal additional to any opposing Pokemon in an area of effect (AoE), while it can reset the cooldown periods for its other moves if they released it while it is at maximum.

At Level 7, Branch Poke will be upgraded with one of the two new moves. One of which is Horn Leech, which will make Trevenant charge forward to deal damage to any opposing Pokemon that is on its path, shoving them in the process.

When it finished its charge, the Pokemon that were shoved will be thrown while it took an amount of damage.

The said skill will also restore Trevenant's HP after colliding with an opposing Pokemon, while its next three basic attacks will have an increased damage, and it will decrease the move's cooldown when they hit.

On the other hand, Pain Split will make it create a link that can tether towards a target, redirecting a portion of the damage Trevenant would take to it. The lower its HP, the greater the incoming damage will be redirected to the linked opposing Pokemon.

The move can also recover Trevenant's HP continuously if its percentage of remaining HP is lower than the linked Pokemon's, as well as increasing movement Speed for a short time, while dealing damage to the said Pokemon over time.

Finally, its Unite Move, Phantom Forest, once learned after hitting Level 9, will make Trevenant create a creepy cursed forest that can deal damage to those opposing Pokemon who are within its AoE, throwing them in the process, while their movement speed is decreased for a short time.

If the Unite Move hits, it will give Trevenant a shield that can strengthen the HP recovery effects that were applied to it. The said shield will get stronger with each hit coming from the opposing Pokemon.

Also, during a brief period after initiating the said Unite Move, all basic attacks of all allied Pokemon can now deal increased damage to those who are affected by Phantom Forest.

Pokemon Balance Changes

Aside from the addition of Trevenant, the Patch 1.4.1.2 Update also gave balance changes to the Pokemon that is included in Pokemon unite's roster.

One of the said Pokemon who will receive said changes is Garchomp, which according to Gamepur, will have the biggest tweaks in order to make it a more viable contender in terms of gameplay.

Its Dig move, according to Comicbook, was tweaked in order to deal damage towards an opposing Pokemon in an AoE and throws them, while it can now increase its Defense and Special Defense for a short time.

Its Earthquake, on the other hand, can now decrease a target's movement speed for a short time aside from dealing them damage, while its Dragon Rush can now allow Garchomp to use Dragon Claw while creating distance in order to create a combo attack.

It can now also strengthen the Dragon Claw's effect of decreasing the target's movement speed, while it can now reduce the damage it receives.

Speaking of Dragon Claw, the patch update also tweaked it to make it attack twice, with the first attack deals damage to an opposing Pokemon, then throwing them, while the second attack will deal an increased damage and a movement speed decrease towards the target for a short time.

Dragonite will also receive changes from the said patch update a month after its debut in Pokemon Unite. Its Basic Attack, according to RealSport101.com, will have a decreased range from 6 to 5.5, while the damage dealt from its Hyper Beam will also be decreased from 410-656 to 350-560.

Its Extreme Speed will have its range increased from 5.5 to 6 and its cooldown reduced from 9 seconds to 7 seconds, while its Draco Impact Unite Move will have an increased amount by which its gauge decreases.

On the other hand, Tsareena will have its basic attack speed increased, while the effects on it from the Triple Axel move will be weakened and its base damage dealt will be decreased from 96 to 78.

Its Stomp, however, will have its HP restoration increased from 37.5% to 60%, while the movement speed reduction from its Grassy Slide move will be removed, and its cooldown will be lengthened from 6.5 seconds to 8 seconds.

The cooldown decreased from Talonflame's Fly when it hits an opponent Pokemon will be reduced to 40%, while its damage will be decreased from 1050 to 910, and its cooldown lengthened from 9 seconds to 12 seconds.

The HP recovery from the Aerial Ace when it hits an opponent will be reduced to 50%, while its cooldown can now be reset once a target was knocked out after using Brave Bird during the said move, and its controls will be adjusted.

Lucario's Meteor Mash will have its damage decreased from 210 to 180 and its effects weakened, while the HP restoration from Extreme Speed will be decreased from 45% to 33.75%, and the upgraded version of Close Combat can now heal at least 15% of its HP.

The movement speed decrease coming from Charizard's Basic Attack, according to the patch notes posted in the Pokemon website, will be weakened, while it can now use both Flamethrower and Fire Blast while moving, and the range of its Seismic Slam Unite Move will be increased.

Decidueye's HP regained when using a Basic Attack once it hits Level 7 will be increased, while the maximum number uses for its Spirit Shackle will be increased to 3. Its Razor Leaf will have its damage dealt increased, while its Leaf Storm will have its AoE increased, effects strengthened, and controls adjusted. Its Nock Nock Unite Move will also have its controls adjusted.

Machamp's HP regained when using a Basic Attack once it hits Level 7 will also be increased, and the damage dealt from Karate Chop will be increased, while the range of Dynamic Punch will also be increased, and the damage and move effects from Submission will now be triggered even if the target is not hindered.

Finally, Gengar's Hex and Dream Eater were tweaked in order to make it learnable to Level 5, as well as its Sludge Bomb and Shadow Ball, which can now be learned once it hits Level 7. Also, the damage dealt from Hex will be decreaed, while Dream Eater's cooldown after a target knocks down will be shorter.
