'League of Legends' Patch 12.2 Update Guide: Which Champions Will be Nerfed, Buffed, and More

Riot Games released the patch notes for League of Legends' Patch 12.2 Update, which will add in a new Champion to its growing roster, Zeri, the Spark of Zaun.

The said patch notes revealed a list of balance changes to several of the online multiplayer battle arena's Champions, including nerfs, buffs, and adjustments for their stats and abilities.

Champion Balance Changes

According to the patch notes that were posted in the League of Legends's website, a total of 16 Champions will be receiving balance changes courtesy of its Patch 12.2 Update. Eight of them will be buffed, while the other five will be nerfed, and the remaining three will be adjusted. One of which is Janna.

According to Comicbook, the said patch update will increase her movement speed, Base AD, and AD Growth from 315 to 330, from 46 - 71.5 to 52 to 103, and from 1.5 to 3, respectively. Her Basic Attack range, however, will be decreased from 550 to 500.

In terms of her abilities, her Tailwind passive was updated, and it can now gain 8% bonus movement speed only while moving toward allied Champions, with the same bonus for said Champion that are moving towards Janna are unchanged.

The mana cost for her Howling Gale Q ability will be decreased from 60/90/100/120/140 to 60/70/80/90/100, and its minimum and maximum range will be increased from 1,000 to 1,100 and from 1,750 to 1,760, respectively. Its time towards the target destination will also be decreased from 1.5 seconds to 1.25 seconds.

The range of her Zephyr W ability will be increased from 550, from edge to edge, to 650, centered, while the duration of its slow will be also increased from 2 seconds to 3 seconds.

The ability's cooldown will be lengthened from 8/7.5/7/6.5/6 seconds to 12 seconds across all ranks, while its base damage, as well as its movement speed bonus, will be increased from 55/85/115/145/175 to 70/100/130/160/190 and from 6%/7%/8%/9%/10% to 8%/9%/10%/11%/12%, respectively.

The innate effects of her Eye of the Storm were updated to make her receive an additional 20% heal and shield power for 5 seconds every time her abilities slow or knock up at least one enemy Champion.

The same ability will also have its generated shields decreased from 80/115/150/185/220 with +70% AP to 80/110/140/170/200 with +65% AP. Its cooldown, however, was shortened from 16/15/14/13/12 seconds to 15/13.5/12/10.5/9 seconds, and the time for the shields to decay were lengthened from .75 to 1.25. Her Monsoon Ultimate ability will have its healing tick rate decreased from .35 seconds to .25 seconds.

Tahm Kench, another Champion that will be adjusted courtesy of the Patch 12.2 Update according to Gamespot, will have the enemy slow rate from his Tongue Lash Q ability increased from 40% to 50%.

The amount of its damage stored into Grey Skin due to its Think Skin E ability, on the other hand, will be decreased from 45%/50%/55%/60%/65% to 15%/25%/35%/45%/55%, but it can be later increased into the former if there are two or more visible enemy Champions nearby, while the amount of the healing restored from Grey Health will be increased from 30-100% to 45-100%.

His Devour Ultimate ability will have its shield given to his ally after swallowing it increase from 400/500/600 with +100% AP to 500/700/900 with +150% AP, while it changed the after effects after swallowing an ally, which can now grant him 40% move speed for 3 seconds, regardless of the swallow duration.

The patch update also tweaked Lulu's Whimsy W ability, making its cooldown longer from 16/15/14/13/12 seconds to 17/16/15/14/13 seconds, while the health growth of Nocturne will be increased from 85 to 95, and the bonus AD ratio of his Duskbringer Q ability will be increased from 75% to 85%.

It also decreased Qiyana 's base health regeneration from 7.5 to 6, and the Grass Trail Zone from her Edge of Ixtal Q ability will be shortened from 3.5 seconds to 3 seconds. It also changed Rengar's Thrill of the Hunt R ability in order to make him leap to enemies with his basic attack when he is camouflage.

The patch update also increased the physical damage per shot of her Inferno Trigger will be increased from 0/10/20 with +50% AD to 5/15/25 with +50% AD, and its total damage per target will also be increased from 0/100/200 with +500% AD to 50/150/250 with +500% AD.

It also tweaked the Innate effect of Senna's Absolution Q ability in order to make her enemies slow after a basic attack by 20%, with additional 6% per 100 AP and additional 10% per 100 bonus AD, for 2 seconds.

It also decreased the bonus damage from Shen's Twilight Teleport Q ability from +5/5.5/6/6.5/7% of target's max Health with additional 2% per 100 AP to +4/4.5/5/5.5/6% or target's max Health with additional 2% per 100 AP.

The patch update will also decreased the damage against from monsters from Talon's Rake W ability from 130% to 105%, while it will increase Tristana's base health and the base health regeneration from 559 to 600 and from 3.75 to 4, respectively.

It also shortened the cooldown of Veigar's Baleful Strike Q ability from 7/6.5/6/5.5/5 seconds to 6/5.5/5/4.5/4 seconds, while it increased that stacks granted after he kills large monsters and minions from 2 to 3.

Finally, the patch update increased Volbear's base attack damage growth from 3 to 3.5 and the coold of his Sky Splitter E ability will be shortened from 15 seconds to 13 seconds, while the damage ratio of Yasuo's Steel Tempest Q ability will be increased from +100% AD to +105% AD.
