Planet Coaster is a simulation game released for Microsoft Windows in 2016 by Frontier Developments. As you may already have guessed, the game gives players the opportunity to construct and manage their own theme parks.

It is considered the spiritual successor of RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, which was released back in 2004.

A big aspect of this game is the creation of the theme park, which includes building roller coasters and customizing rides, according to the official Planet Coaster website. You can even design the scenery that your theme park's guests can enjoy.

Another important aspect of Planet Coaster's gameplay is the management of the theme park. Player can get to control every aspect of the park and guests will react based on the decisions the player makes.

"Each guest is an expressive individual who thinks, feels and explores your park with their own interests, desires and cash in their pocket," the official website explains.

"Together your guests tell you at a glance just how well you're doing," it adds.

Game Modes

Those looking for variety in game modes will not be disappointed with Planet Coaster. In fact, it has a total of four game modes: Career, Challenge, Sandbox, and Scenario Editor.

Career Mode lets the player progress in the game by completing objectives. These objectives include building roller coasters and reaching a certain rating for the theme park.

Challenge Mode is where players can construct a theme park on an empty lot. However, the player will only have a limited budget to work with. The player is also given challenges that can be accepted or declined. Rewards are available for the player to receive once a challenge is successfully completed.

If you find the limited budget too constricting, go for the Sandbox Mode. The main difference it has with the Challenge Mode is that the player gets unlimited funds. All rides and features of the game are also unlocked for the player to use.

Last and not the least, the Scenario Editor lets the player create their objects in all parks that have been saved.
