Believe it or not, there are games on Steam that first started off as iOS and Android games before they are eventually ported to Steam. An example of which is today's #SteamSpotlight feature, Bloons TD 6.

Before you think it is like any other run-of-the-mill tower defense games, you should know that Bloons TD 6 involves a lot of monkeys, balloons, and of course, bananas.

Here is what you should know about today's #SteamSpotlight feature:

Bloons TD 6 is a tower defense game developed and published by Ninja Kiwi. As already mentioned, the game was first released for iOS and Android devices. It was released in 2018 and was eventually ported to Steam later that year.

The game is the sixth installment of the Bloons TD. The first game in the series was released in 2007.

Bloons TD 6 follows a similar gameplay in comparison to the other titles in the series. The primary objective of the player/s is to defend the chosen map against the so-called bloons, which are pretty much baloons and blimps in different colors and sizes. These bloons range in difficulty to beat and some are even covered in metal or ceramic.

The bloons come in one wave after the other. To beat the bloons, the player/s must use monkey towers. Each monkey has its own strength and can be upgraded to add more abilities that will make them stronger.

Popping the bloons will give players coins to spend. However, earning coins this way may not be enough so the players have the option to plant bananas to earn more coins.

What's Different with Bloons TD 6 Compared to the Older Games?

According to Ninja Kiwi's official website, players can expect 44 original maps to choose from to defend against the bloons. There are also a total of 21 monkeys that players can use to defend their chosen map. Two of these monkeys, the Druid and the Alchemist, are new.

There are three upgrade paths for the monkey towers. Each path usually has five tiers of upgrades. It should, however, be noted that players cannot enjoy all available upgrades for a certain monkey.
