#SteamSpotlight Ready or Not Lets You Experience Being Part of a SWAT Team

Back when we were children, we all dreamed of becoming something once we got older. Some dreamed of becoming pop stars. Some dreamed of becoming doctors. Others wanted to be teachers. There are those who wanted to be part of the police.

If you happen to be one of those people who once dreamed of joining the police but did not manage to do so, here is a game that can give you a taste of what it is like. Specifically, it will give you the chance to simulate what it is like to be part of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team.

For today's #SteamSpotlight, we feature an Early Access game called Ready or Not.

Steam has a number of Early Access games on its platform and we are focusing the spotlight on one of them for today.

Developed and published by VOID Interactive, Ready or Not is a "tactical first person shooter set against a backdrop of politicial and economic instability in the United States," according to its official website.

For the solo-player campaign, the player takes on the role of Judge, the elite commander of SWAT team whose goal is to defuse hositle situations. Per the game's Steam page, its developers actually consulted police teams from all over the world to make sure that Ready or Not is as realistic as it can be.

The are over 60 unique items that players can use while playing the game. These include weapon optics, different types of magazines, muzzle modifications, and even other weapons such as stun grenades and pepper sprays. Ballistic shields, tactical ladders, and more are also available.

As mentioned earlier, Ready or Not is an Early Access game as of press time. This means that the game is currently still on beta and its full version has yet to be released.

Game Modes and Other Things to Expect

Aside from the solo-player campaign mode, those interested to play Ready or Not can opt to play online with friends via the co-op mode or the competitive multiplayer mode.

Players will encounter different situations in the game, including having to confront suspects who have barricaded themselves, raids, and even situations involving active shooters. Situations involving the rescue of hostage as well as defusing bombs are also part of Ready or Not.

Steam Reviews for Ready or Not

Ready or Not has more than 41,000 reviews on Steam as of press time. These reviews are described as "Very Positive" by the platform. 

A Steam user who goes by the handle TFX said in a review that Ready or Not is "one of the most realistic tactical first person shooters/SWAT simulator I have ever played." The user also says that the game has unpredictable enemies and praises the atmosphere it presents. 

"Look, I am not exaggerating here when I say this but, Ready or Not is genuinely one of the most thrilling, nerve-wrecking, exciting and best games I have played so far this year," another Steam user going by the handle h8koN says in a separate review.
