Next Grand Theft Auto Returns to Liberty City [RUMOR]

DJ Whoo Kid Claims Liberty City Setting is Coming Back to Grand Theft Auto

There's not even proper DLC even announced yet for Grand Theft Auto V, and already there's talk of the next GTA game.

The information comes from DJ Whoo Kid of G-Unit and Sirius XM's Shade 45. Kid spoke with Baller Status yesterday about numerous things, but the one thing that caught GTA fans attention was when the "only dude that can interview Kermit the Frog, smoke weed with Snoop and be in video games" talked about what he has in store for the latter.

When the outlet asked Kid about his past game roles, he revealed, "I'm bout to be in the new Grand Theft Auto that takes place in New York again."

With Liberty City taking the Big Apple's place in the GTA-verse, it looks like we're heading back to the east coast yet again, provided Kid is correct.

It seems odd that Rockstar would send players back already when Liberty was the main setting for Grand Theft Auto IV. Not to call Kid a liar, but the more likely of scenarios is that the city will return as perhaps a visitable location for Grand Theft Auto V, and/or GTA Online.

The sort of thing has been done before, albeit in a limited manner - In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, players had the option of flying to Liberty from San Andreas so protagonists C.J. could complete a brief mission, and GTA V let players hustle back to Yankton. A glitch would let players access the frozen midwest boondocks while playing Online.

Rockstar did tease that they would be having story DLC, to be announced sometime this Spring, so we'll have to wait 'til then before this can be confirmed.
