Diablo Immortal Early Impressions

Despite releasing on PC and mobile, users of the latter on Android and iOS actually got first crack at the new free-to-play MMORPG from Activision Blizzard (via Polygon). But what are gaming outlets saying about it early on?

Kotaku had a no-holds-barred review of the game, saying that it is enjoyable if you can manage to ignore all of the free-to-play mobile game tropes that litter the game throughout. By that, they're referring to the copious amounts of microtransactions within the game. It's a normal thing to expect from a free-to-play mobile MMORPG, because the devs at Activision Blizzard still has to make money somehow.

ArsTechnica more or less shares the same sentiments. In their review, they called Diablo Immortal a good game and praising its overall design as befitting of the iconic franchise's name. Once more, it's just the microtransactions that are hampering overall reviews - one might assume that without them, the game might've been a far better one than it is right now.
