A New Apex Legends Leak Points To Respawn Adding New Classes

New Apex Legends classes could be added to the game soon, according to a recent leak.

The leak comes from prominent community member Thordan Smash, who posted a video discussing developer Respawn Entertainment's plan to add new Legend classes. As reported by GameRant, the vvideo talks about the classes being just one part of the dev's long-term plans, which will reportedly also include progression expansions and new design elements.

Thordan made it clear, however, that he believes the new classes won't coincide with the release of new Legends. Instead, it will involve reclassifying the game's current roster, which features a total of 21 as of this writing. The most recent addition to the roster is mobile-exclusive Legend Fade, who is an Assault class character.

Here is Thordan's video on the matter, if you want to check it out in its entirety:

In it, the prominent Apex Legends leaker also talks about how Respawn can diversify some of the passive abilities of their current legends, meaning they'll be "better aligned" with how their class plays. However, some of the talking points presented on the video seemed off, as per the original GameRant report. Thordan mentions how he has a "reliable source" for the information on classes, he does spend a lot of his time speculating.

Among these speculations, as reported by Dexerto, is Thordan's suggestion that there should be "at least three" new classes to be added. He mentions how a theoretical "Mobility" class would allow some Legends like Valkyrie or Octane to be put in a class based on their unique abilities and powerful Ultimates - which can't be found elsewhere.

Either way, the leak is absolutely not a confirmation that Apex Legends classes will see a massive touchup soon. So until Respawn releases an official announcement, take this with a grain of salt.

In other news fronts about Apex, the new Hero Anime event was seemingly discovered by dataminers indicating that new crossover skins are coming.

Dexerto reports that the datamined info is said to point to four Legendary character skins, which will be given to Octane, Wattson, Revenant, and Mirage. But it's not just Legends getting new skins as weapon skins for the Flatline, EVA, Charge Rifle, and Wingman are also purportedly coming. The information comes from Apex dataminer KralRindo, who posted their findings on Twitter:

Other dataminers such as Ezra_rc and SomeoneWhoLeaks also posted skins for Bangalore and Bloodhound, while also saying that Control is expected to return as part of the Hero Anime event. Here's another video from Thordan Smash talking about the new content:

Either way, Respawn is always set to introduce new changes to Apex over time - it is free to play, after all. Season 13 is well underway at the time of this writing. And while you're waiting for the new skins or the potential reclassifying of classes, GameSpot posted an article indicating which Legends to play if you want to be competitive this season: Bloodhound, Valkyrie, Gibraltar, and Wraith are the top four.
