Overwatch 2: Junker Queen's Hero Kit Gets Showcased

Overwatch 2 is introducing a few new heroes as part of their revamped roster, but perhaps none of them is as more polarizing as the game's new Tank: the Junker Queen.

Overwatch 2's Junker Queen has been shown off recently in a post detailing her hero kit, and it looks like playing her will be one of the most fun things to do in the upcoming sequel. According to PC Gamer, the new hero is "immediately fun and scary" with her apparent high-risk, high reward playstyle that will be perfect for those who want to stay in the thick of the action.

Junker Queen will have these abilities at her disposal, as per PlayOverwatch:

Scattergun: A pump action shotgun.
Jagged Blade: This blade's Passive ability inflicts damage to enemies overtime with a single quick melee, just like bleeding effects in other games. Its Active ability allows it to be thrown, and you can have it return to you if you press the button again.
Commanding Shout: Increases Junker Queen's health by 200 and nearby allies by 100, while also increasing her speed by 30%. Perfect for rushing in before here ult builds up.
Carnage: Junker Queen can wound (i.e. inflict bleeding) enemies in front when she swings her axe around.
Rampage (Ultimate): With this ultimate, Junker Queen can charge forward, wound enemies, and keep them from being healed.
Adrenaline Rush (Passive): Junker Queen heals from all damage over time dealt by wounds.

As per the original PCGamer article, Junker Queen could be the saving grace for the game considering it's dropped its two-Tank configuration. They consider this new hero as perfectly made for 5v5 team fights, as anybody skilled behind her controls would be enough to wreak havoc on entire teams even as a lone Tank.

Tips On Playing Overwatch 2's Junker Queen

CNET posted an article detailing specific tips on how to be effective as Junker Queen in OW2. Here's what you need to do or practice on:

Get your knife throws down pat: Knife throws with Junker Queen are tricky to land. But if you do land them consistently, you can deal so much damage to an enemy team on your own and keep them on the defensive.
Don't try to take down the enemy tank: There's one less tank in the enemy team so it's enticing to try to take them out early. But remember, you're your team's only tank as well. Instead, focus on dealing with the squishy healers and DPS because these folks will not have as much protecting them. You'd be spending way too much time trying to take down a Rein shield, when you could've spent that time taking out healers and DPS.
Practice shooting in-between abilities: While Junker Queen's axe and knife are good on their own, your most reliable weapon is still your Scattergun. Practice getting some shots in while your abilities cool down, and you will be able to deal damage on a regular basis - considering you have barely any defensive capabilities to speak of.
