Kinetic Games Reveals 2024 Roadmap for Phasmophobia, Provides More Information About Console Support

Phasmophobia players who are eagerly awaiting any updates regarding console support for the game will be happy to know that developer Kinetic Games has revealed more information about it.

Roadmap 2024

Kinetic Games has recently revealed its 2024 roadmap for Phasmophobia. The company said that players can expect smaller patches that contain new features and content. These updates will be released as soon as they are ready, so players do not even have to wait that long.

So, what are the features that are coming very soon? In Update 0.9+, players can expect an overhaul of the game's lighting system. This is probably to address the issue Kinetic Games had when it made certain adjustments to the game's renderer, which caused dark environments to become even darker.

Update 0.9+ will also bring changes to enhance the in-game shop and improvements to make progression a whole lot better.

In Update 0.10+, the company will be introducing a new device that players can use to investigate paranormal activity: the Sound Recorder. It still remains to be seen (or heard) what this thing can do, but judging from its name, players might hear eerie sounds to give them some useful clues.

Other notable changes in Update 0.10+ include an overhaul of the photo system, new tasks, and tweaks to rewards, among others.

Console Update

Right now, Phasmophobia is only available on PC. The community has been clamoring for Kinetic Games to bring this horror game to consoles, but the company has stayed silent about this until now.

The company had planned to make Phasmophobia available to consoles late last year, but it had to delay the release due to unforeseen issues during development. Although Kinetic Games did not disclose the specifics, the company did say that players can expect a much more improved experience similar to how the game currently feels on PC.

A large amount of optimizations will also be implemented to ensure that players can get nearly the same visual quality as that of the PC version of the game.

Those who are hoping for the console release may have to wait a while longer, though. The company said that the game will arrive on PlayStation and Xbox "as soon as it's ready."

Enter the Lighthouse

A new location called the "Point Hope Lighthouse" will soon be introduced to Phasmophobia. The company originally intended to release the new location sooner. However, the content was ultimately delayed to make the lighthouse look extra special.

Unlike other locations in the game, the Point Hope Lighthouse offers a vastly different experience in that the rooms are circular in nature, with several looping spots that force players to make a quick decision. Should they run for the exit or do they find a suitable spot to hide from the paranormal attacker?

The more confined spaces also make things much more intense as players are left with a smaller area to work with. Perhaps ghosts and other paranormal beings will have an easier time haunting players in the lighthouse, no?

So, what can you say about the 2024 roadmap for Phasmophobia? Let us know in the comments!
