'Borderlands 2' PS Vita: New Slim Bundle Install Size To Fill Entire Memory Card? [VIDEO]

The PlayStation Vita Slim was just released yesterday, a newly redesigned, sleeker system that comes bundled with a digital download code for Borderlands 2 and all of its DLC. The system also comes with an 8GB card but the install size for the game comes frighteningly close to filling it up.

Dialogue! Dismemberment! First screens From Telltale's Tales From The Borderlands!

Borderlands 2 is a big game but part of the reason for its size is that it comes with six DLC packs, including the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1, Collector's Edition Pack, Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty, offering six characters to start things off with right away.

The game will take up 3.6 GB of space alone but those DLC packs will put the total install size to 5.3 GB. Don't expect to fit much more of the game's DLC on that 8GB card, or many games at all, for that matter. Making things worse, you can't choose to delete the DLC by itself once it's installed- only by deleting the game itself can you get rid of it.

Borderlands 2 Vita Graphics Comparison: How Does It Stack Up To PS3 and PC?

The game otherwise plays much like its console forebearers, with understandably diminished graphics in order to work on the smaller specs. It still holds up fairly well to the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions, the one key difference being that it only supports 2 player co-op. It's still pretty remarkable to see the shooter on a portable system, and as an introduction to the PS Vita's underrated library of amazing titles, it's a great one. Just don't expect to be able to fit too many games on the same card as it.

That said, Spelunky is a mere 116 megs and there's no excuse for it not to find a permanent home on your new Vita!
