'Elder Scrolls Online' Patch V1.1.2 Update Goes Live, Craglorn Zone Added, Major Bug Fixes

'Elder Scrolls Online' Patch V1.1.2 Goes Live

Elder Scrolls Online released its first major game update after a tumultuous launch back in April. The patch adds the new zone, Craglorn, and a host of other fixes for all the adventurers in Tamriel.

Game of Skyrim: Game of Thrones Opening Meets Elder Scrolls

From the Elder Scrolls Online website: "Craglorn features an intriguing new storyline and challenging gameplay designed especially for groups of Veteran Rank players. You and your allies will take on new quests as you discover the Celestial threat to Tamriel, explore delves where your skills will be put to the test, and even participate in 12-player Trials - a completely new kind of adventure with deadly enemies and fantastic rewards."

An intriguing new feature is called the Death Recap, which is also a kick ass name for a metal band. When a player dies in Elder Scrolls Online the Death Recap screen will appear and show "vital information about what contributed to your character's death, including the most recent damage inflicted on your character and helpful hints to avoid death in the future based on how your character just perished." With the unspoken words 'if you fall and die, you're an idiot'. I cannot wait to see the many screenvids of people dying in stupid and often hilarious ways.

Dungeon upgrades, combat tweaks and a great many bug fixes are also being applied in the patch. No game's launch is ever smooth, especially an MMO game the size and scope of Elder Scrolls. ZeniMax Online Studios has been listening to user feedback and is hoping to release either new content or game fixes approximately every six weeks. So far, they're right on track. The best part about PC gaming is that a game can be improved upon, it is not stuck as it was on the day of release. Elder Scrolls Online is facing a lot of competition from other MMO titles, we can hope that such a legendary franchise can earn another jewel in its crown someday.
