Skyrim Game Jam Experiments with Kinect Voice Command

The 2012 D.I.C.E Summit opened with Bethesda's Todd Howard giving its keynote speech.  Howard presented the stats and results from the company's Game Jam 2011 which involved developers coming together for a week to conjure creative stuff for Skyrim.  A montage video presentation revealed never before seen gameplay involving dragon mounts, water arrows, level enhancements, skeletal butlers, foliage, spears, giant creatures, and more.

Features that raised some eyebrows included a Kinect voice-shout command.  The video showed a devleoper shouting commands like Yol Toor Shul, Liz Slen Nus, and Fus Ro Dah.  Each employed a devastating attacks that power enemies into the ground.  A boss battle scene was fitting to close out the montage.   Audiences watched as an extremely huge crab emerged for an epic boss duel.

Bethesda's development team surely had more creative juices left in them even after Elder Scrolls V was completed and shipped.  The proprietary creations were meant to be internal but Howard hinted that there may be possibilities of the content being available in future updates or paid DLC. If the add-ons do not make it to the public square, modders may be able to replicate the feature displayed at the keynote.

Check out all the amazing features by watching the video below.
