North American Puzzle and Dragons players may notice that they have a new update waiting for them today. The 7.1.1 patch went live this morning, and it added a couple of new ultimate evolutions, improved a couple of skills and added some more storage space for players who had maxed out the capacity of their Monster Box.

The update added a new ultimate evolution for Hera-Ur as well as two new ultimate evolutions for Lucifer. Beyond that, many dragons were granted a decrease in the cost they require to be on a player's team, making them more viable to use. A whole set of dragon-based monster skills also got buffs, most notably the skills for all three of the starter dragons. Magma Breath, Blizzard Breath, Gaia Breath, Holy Breath and Inferno Breath all received a decrease in the number of turns it takes the skill to activate – from 10 to eight – when the skill is at its max level. A full breakdown of all of the skill changes as well as the formulas for these new ultimate evolutions can be found over on the game's Facebook page.

The new patch increased the maximum monster count for a player's Monster Box from 1100 to 1500 for even the most prolific of monster hoarders. The patch also upgraded the appearance of orbs and fixed a couple minor bugs.

Japan Is Already Enjoying PAD's 7.2 Patch

To the disappointment of North American fans, the 7.1.1 patch still didn't add the Puzzle and Dragons W expansion that Japanese players got back in July. When this update will hit Western platforms, assuming it ever makes its way here at all, is still anybody's best guess.

Even with the new update, the North American version of Puzzle and Dragons is still a bit behind the Japanese version, which has already received the 7.2 patch. Hopefully, North American players won't have to wait too long for this patch that doubles each player's stamina regeneration, letting players do twice as much questing each day.

Puzzle and Dragons is free to play both in Apple's App Store and on Google Play.
