Grand Theft Auto 5 Next-Gen Details: Exclusive Content Announced For Players Returning To Upcoming PS4, Xbox One And PC Versions

Rockstar Is Offering Some Extra Goodies For Returning Players Who Pick Up The Upcoming Next-Gen Version

After more than a year of being relegated to last-gen consoles, Grand Theft Auto V is ready to make its glorious debut on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next month, and developer Rockstar is making sure that players who poured time into the original version won't be left hanging in the new versions.

Players with existing progress in GTA V and GTA Online will be able to transfer their progress over to the next-gen version (this includes the 2015 PC version) and immediately regain access to all of the bonuses they had unlocked in the first one, including content they may have unlocked by buying a Collector's Edition or Special Edition of the game.

The progress only transfers over once, though, so once you transfer, any progress made on your PS3 or Xbox 360 will only show up on that one system. Rockstar also confirmed that Jobs from GTA Online will transfer over to the new generation, though Leaderboards, Snapmatics, Playlists and bookmarks will not.

Returning players can also look forward to a host of exclusive content on the next-gen version. Some of the content takes the form of new things to do, like stock car races or a new, noir-inspired murder mystery series of objectives. Most, however, will take the form of sweet new vehicles and weapons. Returning players will be able to tear through enemies with a rail gun and hatchet. They'll also be able to get around in exclusive vehicles like the Imponte Duke O’Death, the Dodo seaplane and the Kraken sub.

Check Rockstar's blog for all the details. Grand Theft Auto V will make its way to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18 and to PCs on January 27.
