Project CARS Introduces Go Karts; Next-Gen Driving Simulator Taking Inspiration From Nintendo's Mario Classic, Project KARTS!

Project CARts: Go-Karts Come To Upcoming Driving Sim, Project CARS

Mario Kart is the best racing game. These are the words I stand by. You can keep your Forza, your Gran Turismo, Driveclub (please keep Driveclub), Need For Speed, all of them. All you need is Mario Kart. Why? It's right there in the title: karts.

So when Project CARS, the upcoming (and delayed) racing game from Slightly Mad Studios announces that they're going to have a full on go-kart mode, my ears perk up. Tell me more, Slightly Mad, tell me more.

The official post reads, "Everyone has different tastes when it comes to cars; some love the sleek, smooth lines of an Italian supercar, some love the raw power of a US muscle car. And we all have our favourites when it comes to motorsports, teams, and drivers." They fail to add the simple qualifier: but we can all agree, go-karts > everything.

"As one of the most accessible motorsports on the planet participated in recreationally by millions each year, karting has been the starting point for many professional racing drivers such as Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Juan Pablo Montoya, Danica Patrick, and Jeff Gordon." Most of them trained on that. Karting is a slightly less dangerous way to gain the reflex and twitch skills one needs to command a vehicle going really, really fast.

Players in Project CARS will be able to experience the thrill of karting in two forms - 125cc shifter karts perfect for short circuits and the more powerful 250cc Superkarts capable of speeds up to 160mph.

Alas, it is doubtful if the cart tracks will come with power-ups, boosts and of course, blue (or red) sparks for leet drifting. But hey, go-karts! Everyone loves go-karts.

EVERYONE.
