Smite Xbox One Beta Registration Is Now Open, Sign Up For The Increasingly Popular Third-Person MOBA Here

To go along with the enjoyable cinematic trailer ahead of this weekend's Smite World Championship, Hi-Rez Studios today opened registration for the game's Xbox One beta.

Assassin's Creed Unity Dead Kings DLC Release Date Announced

Anyone can now signup for the beta on the developer's site simply by supplying your email address and agreeing to the terms. The beta test is "coming soon", with the full title itself planned for release sometime during mid-2015.

If you're unfamiliar with Smite, it's a free to play third-person MOBA title that has grown rapidly in popularity on PC. The competitive World Championship event has gathered a staggering prize pool of more than $2.5 million, which top pro players will compete for this weekend. The event will take place at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta from January 9 to 11.

PS4 Sales Reach 18.5 Million Units As Of January 4

As of now, Xbox One will be the only other platform on which Smite will launch. If you're unable to play on PC, the beta is no doubt worth checking out since it's easy to apply, and you may end up getting hooked. The over-the-shoulder perspective is a different take on the genre compared to the ultra-popular League of Legends and Dota 2, but the change is paying dividends for Hi-Rez. Additional playable characters can be purchased in-game--a deal on PC right now is discounting the Ultimate God Pack, which unlocks all 60 characters for $19.99 instead of the usual $29.99.
