The Walking Dead Spinoff News: Leaked 'Cobalt' Script Gives Details About New Show

Cobalt Will Be The Walking Dead Before There Are Walking Dead

So far, all we've known about The Walking Dead spinoff is that it's set in California and that it will be "different". At least until recently. A leaked script reveals some of what fans will be seeing in the new show.

One Character To Show Up From Original The Walking Dead On New Spinoff?

Before we even dive in, the script was released by Bleeding Cool. If you're wondering about the authenticity, the site was sent a cease and desist letter after publishing so, probably totally legit. Now on to the good bits.

The pilot appears to be titled, "Fear The Walking Dead".

Game Of Thrones Special Details Released

Right away, the first thing that is clear is that this is set before the major outbreak of zombies. People still have technology and clean clothes. People don't know about the zombies.

The family that will be featured in the show is older and even more dysfunctional than Rick's. I mean, Rick at least had the zombie apocalypse and a coma to blame for his problems. These people are just, not functioning. Don't worry guys, nothing brings a family together like the end of the world.

This would be the family played by Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, and Alycia Debnam Cary.

The script also says that a CDC virologist gives a statement informing everyone not to panic because the dead don't walk. Pretty stereotypical zombie fare actually. That's how it always starts.

The virologist may be Edwin Jenner's wife though, still a possibility. We first met the CDC employee in season one of The Walking Dead. It would tie the two shows together.

So, confirmed, the show is at the beginning of the apocalypse. Less zombies but probably a lot more mayhem.

The Walking Dead (original) comes back to TV on February 8.
