Donnie, Mikey, Ralph And Leo Head On Over To The West Side With The All New TMNT Figures At The International Toy Fair This Weekend

The annual International Toy Fair begins today at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City, and companies the world over are bringing their upcoming wares, toys, games and news to the far west side of Manhattan. One team, however, doesn't have to travel very far to get there.

Yu-Gi-Oh! My God, There Are So, So Many New Sets Coming Out In 2015, See Them At Toy Fair

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - everyone's favorite NYC sewer dwellers - are bringing their big guns. At least, toymaker Playmates is. The company will be showing off the new line of TMNT inspired figures all weekend long.

"Inspired by season 4 of Nickelodeon's hit TV series, Playmates Toys will introduce its biggest extension to date in the line called Mutations, extensions to the successful Half Shell Heroes preschool line and a new die-cast segment called T-Machines; in addition to new action figures, vehicles, role play and playsets.

Catan Version 5 Demoed At This Weekend's Toy Fair In NYC

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are big business. In addition to the movie from last year that was...a movie, the new television series has been wildly successful for Nickelodeon, making Donnie, Ralph, Leo and Mikey among the most sought after toys for kids. And adults, for that matter, too.

"As the Turtles continue to be one of the hottest brands, we're excited to introduce toy segments that bring all-new levels of play to the Turtles world," said Karl Aaronian, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Playmates Toys. "For example, kids will now be able to recreate the Turtles' mutation, transform an action figure into a playset, or roll through the sewers and streets with the new die-cast vehicle collection."

It's hard to figure out what not to buy. The T-Machines are new die-cast metal vehicles and playsets that should stand up to the most brutal of play sessions. You can even pick up the Shell Launcher, which will send your new cars flying. Well, not flying, but moving in a single direction, on the ground, very fast.

You can also pick up some great playsets, such as the new sewer/garage. It's not the classic Turtlemobile, but few things are.

The Half Shell Heroes set - for the younger kids in your life - is expanding with"the introduction of new 2.5" action figure characters including Baxter Fly, Slash and Tiger Claw, as well as an assortment of new vehicles that each come with a 2.5" action figure. Man, I am just old. Who are these characters?!

Finally, the Mutations set allows kids to recreate the Turtle's humble origins, by transforming them into normal, every day turtles. Or you can Mix and Match them, putting heads and limbs where they don't belong like some sort of cruel god. You know, kid stuff.

Industry professionals- be sure to check out Playmates' full offering this weekend at booth #761.
