Several fans are now excited for the coming of the much-anticipated "The Winds of Winter" book.  However, new reports have claimed that the George R.R. Martin tome will face another delay as the New Mexican author was reportedly sick after his trip in Balticon.

'The Winds of Winter' gets delayed again and again

Reports have it that George R.R. Martin will not be able to finish "The Winds of Winter" on time as he got sick after having a trip in Balticon. The "A Song of Ice and Fire" author took to his blog last week to announce that he will be taking a break after getting sick from his most-recent travel.

"I am back home again in Santa Fe, after two weeks on the road in Baltimore and New York City," "The Winds of Winter" author George R.R. Martin wrote. "Great trip... but I seem to have brought the plague home with me."

The blog post of George R.R. Martin has sparked reports of him not finishing "The Winds of Winter" within the expected date. GamenGuide has previously reported that the much-awaited sixth installment of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series is expected to be published on January 2017.

However, with the current condition of George R.R. Martin, it seems impossible now for him to finish "The Winds of Winter" before the year ends. It can be recalled that this isn't the first time "The Winds of Winter" has faced delay issues.

With all the delays and criticisms, fans have now started speculating that George R.R. Martin could give up on writing "The Winds of Winter" anytime soon. Several fans were disappointed when the much-anticipated book was not released last year.

In fact, many of them were worried that George R.R. Martin might not be able to finish "The Winds of Winter" because of his age. In fact, Fashion & Style has claimed that many fans are afraid history will repeat itself just like what happened to "The Wheel of Time" novel, wherein Robert Jordan passed away at 58 leaving the book series unfinished.
