This fall, several of our favorite television shows are returning with brand new seasons and stories to tell. One of them is The CW's "Arrow," which brings back Stephen Amell as the masked archer. The show is celebrating its fifth episode this upcoming fall season, and with that, its 100th episode as well.
TVLine reports that there are some returning characters in "Arrow" season 5, as Katie Cassidy, Jamey Sheridan returning for 100th episode. The news was unveiled by executive producer Marc Guggenheim, who took to Twitter to spill the details.
"Arrow" season 5 will find Katie Cassidy, Jamey Sheridan returning for 100th episode, which will occur during the four-way episode crossover happening between "The Flash," "Legends of Tomorrow," and The CW newcomer, "Supergirl."
Fans would remember Jamey Sheridan as Robert Queen, the father of "Arrow" himself, Oliver Queen. Robert was last seen sacrificing himself in the island in order for Oliver to survive. In "Arrow" season 5, Robert is returning from the dead, but in some fantastical way, as Guggenheim promised that it won't be via a "Flashpoint" storyline or a flashback.
Fans would also remember Katie Cassidy as the Black Canary who was murdered back in season 4. She will also be returning to "Arrow" season 5 in some way or form, as promised by Guggenheim.
Meanwhile, "Arrow" season 5 star Stephen Amell is also making waves in The CW's "Legends of Tomorrow." According to Collider, the actor is appearing in the season premiere of "Legends of Tomorrow" when historian Dr. Nate Heywood (Nick Zano) seeks the help of Oliver Queen to find the Legends. This will be key in getting the team of Legends together to fight the immortal villain Vandal Savage and protect the timeline from evil.
"Arrow" season 5 returns to The CW on Wednesday, October 5, while "Legends of Tomorrow" will return with season 2 on Thursday, October 13.
