Double Fine Adventure Becomes an Ouya Console Exclusive

Developer Double Fine Productions plans to bring two of its games to upcoming Android-based console Ouya. The developer will port "Double Fine Adventure," the game funded by a trend-setting Kickstarter campaign, as well as their most recent release, The Cave.

Ouya founder Julie Uhrman announced that Double Fine Adventure would be coming to the platform, which was also funded by a Kickstarter campaign, during a panel yesterday at DICE in Las Vegas. According to Kotaku, Uhrman revealed that Adventure won't simply launch on the platform, but would do so as a "console exclusive." A Double Fine representitive has since clarified that the game won't released for other "TV consoles" like PlayStation and Xbox "on launch day."

Polygon reports that Double Fine also revealed that The Cave, the studio's most recent title, would eventually be making its way to Ouya as well.

Uhrman used the game as a prime example of what gamers and investors can expect from the Ouya software library. She also revealed that Words with Friends creator Paul Bettner is currently working on a new game for the platform. According to Uhrman, there are more than 450 games currently in development for the Ouya.
