NFL Latest News & Updates: Brock Osweiler Shrugs Off Criticism

Brock Osweiler could care less about what people think, particularly on how he is playing for the Houston Texans. After bolting the Denver Broncos, his departure has now been proving to be a good one.

As mentioned in a previous post, the Broncos are so far undefeated while the Texans are struggling. Taking Brock Osweiler’s place in Denver is Trevor Siemian, someone who barely got any attention.

As far as Brock Osweiler is concerned, he drew lots of attention when he jumped to Houston after accepting a four-year deal worth $72 million. So far he has failed to prove the Texans big investment.

Brock Osweiler not bothered by flak

One aspect of Brock Osweiler’s game is his struggles in completing passes. He has only completed 56.9 percent of his passes and such has told heavily on the Texans. To back that, Houston is tied for fewest touchdowns per game at 4.0 with only three touchdowns to show so far, NFL.com reported.

Trever Siemian has been far better and now Brock Osweiler is drawing some heat. Then again, it may be too early to pass judgment on the 25-year-old quarterback though he is aware of the criticism behind his brand of play.

Rather than hit back at critics, he considers them hilarious. Brock Osweiler singles out the fact that no one knows how he reads plays – something many feel is pretty predictable, the Houston Chronicle reported.

The pressure picked up a notch when the Texans lost by a mile to the New England Patriots, a team struggling with injuries to its quarterback needs. Moving forward, it looks like coach Bill O’Brien will take on a more active role by calling the offensive plays.

The season may only be three-games old but the fact remains that the Texans are under the radar. O’Brien and the team cannot wait for Brock Osweiler to find his groove, even if they paid a hefty $72 million to pry him away from the Broncos.
