The Golden State Warriors are one of the favorites to win it all for the 2016-17 NBA season, largely because the “Splash Brothers” are still around plus the addition of Kevin Durant. Add Draymond Green and some reliable backups and you get a team that is a hands-down choice to be this year’s NBA champs.
With a filled roster, adding more high profile players to the mix could be possible. Names like DeMarcus Cousins, Al Horford or even Isaiah Thomas could be lethal additions even if dealing for them is highly improbable at this point. The only other scenario to probably see all these guys is through the traditional NBA fantasy leagues and nothing else.
Only a Fantasy NBA selection?
This seems to be the route that FanSided is suggesting though anything can happen in the season. But as far as seeing another all-star team is concerned, coach Steve Kerr may not be amenable to the idea for chemistry reasons. An example is seeing to temperamental guys playing alongside each other – Green and Cousins. Both have been notorious hot-heads so seeing both play together is a bomb waiting to explode.
Will Boston Celtics budge?
Al Horford could be a more sensible choice though the current Celtic may take exception to the fact that the Warriors took Durant over him. Though it is understandable, a trade for the Dominican cager could only suffice if his tenure in Boston turns out to be a bust. So far, that doesn’t seem to be the case as reported by CSNNE.com.
Isaiah Thomas on the other hand is a curious dish seeing how the Warrior have more than enough guards in their rotation. Unless it involves a trade with some of the guards, this is something that may not happen. But will Thomas accept a role where he would likely come off the bench?
Like in the case of Horford, the chances of seeing Isaiah Thomas traded to Golden State depends on the Celtics campaign. If he sputters, it could be possible. If both do, a multiplayer trade could ensue though it is anyone’s guess on who the Warriors offer – in case they are interested.
