"The Escapists 2" by Mouldy Toof Studios and Team 17 is set to roll out with a 2017 release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The sequel to the strategy video game is said to feature an art style similar to the original game. However, the game will include more complex characters and situations as well as a multiplayer mode.
The official teaser for "The Escapists 2" has been released which featured a new multiplayer "The Escapist" which drop in or drop out play with split screen and online play. Reports added that there will also be new ways to escape in this sequel by tying knotted sheets together to climb down high windows in the all-new multi-level prisons, among others. The game will also feature new items to craft such as a homemade taser that can be used to knock out guards.
"The Escapists 2" will feature an overhauled combat system featuring new lock-on targeting and blocking systems, and light and heavy attacks. The sequel will also have a brand new look with deeper and richer graphical styles while maintaining the unique style of the game. The game will also include new customisation options to tweak the avatar like male/female, bald and sporting a mullet options plus join a band or learn to paint in this game sequel.
Meanwhile, "The Escapists 2" Game Developer Mouldy Toof Chris Davis mentioned his excitement to be working with Team17 again to bring the new chapter of the game to life. The game is slated to bring many new additions and features to the original game. "The Escapists" had 1.8m sales back in 2015 which was followed by a special spin-off of "The Walking Dead".
"The Escapists 2" is slated to feature co-op for up to four players. The multiplayer option was said to be included in the sequel as requested by "The Escapists" community. Team 17 CEO Debbie Bestwick MBE revealed that both local and online gamers will be able to play on the multiplayer mode in either co-op or versus modes, GameGrin reported.
