NBA Trade Rumors 2016 Latest News & Update: Rudy Gay, Darren Collison For Goran Dragic Happening Soon

The Sacramento Kings have reportedly set their eyes on Goran Dragic of the Miami Heat and are willing to send Rudy Gay and Darren Collison if both sides can come to an agreement. The Kings seem to be getting desperate with the regular NBA season around the corner with no established point guard at this point.

Collison will be sitting out the first eight games once the 2016-17 NBA seasons starts due to a domestic violence misdemeanor. On the other hand, Rudy Gay has made it clear that he is not comfortable playing with the Kings and is in fact expected to become an unrestricted free agent next Summer, Basketball Insiders reported.

Seeing Goran Dragic included in the talks may come as a surprise considering he and Hassan Whiteside were considered to be the new cornerstones of the Miami Heat franchise. With Wade out of the picture, the season could be perfect for the Slovenian to show his wares following some struggles last season.

But Dragic may find it difficult to prove himself seeing how the Heat has an overloaded backcourt. Aside from the 30-year-old playmaker, Erik Spoelstra has Tyler Johnson, Josh Richardson, Dion Waiters and Wayne Ellington who can be used at the guard positions.

That said, it makes a bit of sense to send Dragic who could find himself fighting for playing minutes this season. If exposure is important to him, then moving to Sacramento could satisfy that itch.

The Kings have to make do with a troubled Ty Lawson for now which raises big questions on how Sacramento will fair this season. Dragic can step up and try to hum with resident star, DeMarcus Cousins.

For the Heat, landing Gay could give them the firepower they always wanted. Currently, in rebuilding mode, the Heat could give Gay the exposure he wants though the risk of losing him after this coming NBA season looms, CBS reported.

Collison is a curious case though he may end up spending more time on the bench if not waived at some point. The deal, if consummated, does have benefits for both teams if a deal can be struck.
