Super Bowl MVP Von Miller Gets TRO To Stop Elizabeth Ruiz From Releasing Video Scandal

Sex tapes are usually associated with reality stars such as the Kardashian women. However, athletes do occasionally are scandalized by video scandals such as Super Bowl MVP Von Miller of the Denver Broncos.

Mercury News reported that Miller got from Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Amy Hogue on Tuesday a temporary restraining order banning model Elizabeth Ruiz, the athlete’s partner in the tape, from distributing, copying or disseminating the tape. Ruiz was apparently selling the tape to Miller for $2.5 million, based on a recorded call from her phone.

Court filings did not identify Miller who was named only as “John Doe.” However, smokinggun.com and other media companies were able to confirm it is the 27-year-old sportsman who was involved in the video scandal.

Cancun Tryst

He met Ruiz in Cancun, Mexico, in June when they had a consensual hot encounter. Miller told Ruiz that he wanted the recording of their steamy session to be private, Dallas News reported. The woman, according to court records, wants to be the next Kim Kardashian whose shot to fame initially was through a video scandal.

Miller learned of the attempt by Ruiz to sell the tape through Kevin Blatt, a sex tape broker, who told the atheletes representative of Ruz's offer. She also tried to sell the tape toTMZ but was turned down. It was then that Ruiz met with Miller’s representative, offered the video scandal for $2.5 million and threatened to release it if he would not pay.

Monetary Damage Too

The ex-standout player of DeSoto High School and Texas A&M University is seeking from the court monetary damage from the model and a permanent injunction. Miller has expanded his wings beyond the football field by competing in early 2016 on “Dancing With the Stars,” dressed up as Elvis Presley. But his salsa failed to impress judges since Miller was eliminated after that performance.

Miller, with his six-year $114.5 million contract with the Broncos – making him the highest paid defensive player in July after he inked the contract – could afford the $2.5 million Ruiz is asking. However, Miller is concerned the release of a sex tape could affect his endorsements such as with Microsoft, Adidas, Best Buy, Old Spice and Beats by Dre.
