‘Transformer 5’ Release Date, News & Update: Michael Bay Teases ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ To Include ‘Last Knight’ Trailer

Movie fans eagerly awaiting for a first glimpse at "Transformers: The Last Knight" will be happy with the latest news. Michael Bay recently announced that the movie trailer's debut will happen at the same day as the release of "Star Wars: Rogue One."

The "Transformers 5" filmmaker took to social media to share the upcoming release of the movie's trailer. In a short video clip, Bay told fans how he has been reading the various comments posted online about "Transformers: The Last Knight," Comic Book reported.

Many moviegoers have been requesting Bay and other showrunners to release a teaser clip for the fifth installment to the "Transformers" movie franchise. It appears that fans will need to wait until mid-December before the said trailer is released.

The preview will debut alongside the highly anticipated "Star Wars: Rogue movie," according to Bay. The "Transformers 5" director stated, "The teaser is coming December 16 on Star Wars. Okay. So, look forward to it."

"Transformers: The Last Knight" will feature Cade's (Mark Wahlberg) continued adventures with the alien robot heroes. Avid fans of the movie series will also see a few familiar faces, given Lt. Lennox's (Josh Duhamel) and Robert Epps (Tyrese Gibson) return to the said film.

However, the story details about Bay's upcoming fifth installment to the "Transformer" movie franchise has yet to be divulged. Previous reports teased of a plot that will span various time period from the legendary knights to Nazis, as well as hints of World War 2.

A recently released Imax and "Transformers" featurette even teased of a scene that involves the iconic Stonehenge in England. New cast member Anthony Hopkins was even filmed striding towards the said tourist location as a helicopter flies overhead.

Meanwhile, "Transformers 5" will serve as Bay's last time to direct a film in the said movie franchise. In an earlier interview with Rolling Stone, he mentioned about passing the "Transformers'" directorial reigns to another filmmaker. Bay shared, "This is the last one ... It's time to move on."

"Transformers: The Last Knight" will hit movie theaters on June 23, 2017. Watch the Imax and "Transformers" featurette below:
