'Overwatch' Release Date, News & Update: Christmas Jingle Hints at New Holiday Event; Details Here

Holiday events are a thing now, and it's helped bring in more revenue to games across the border. Just take "Pokemon GO," which popularity surged once again with their Halloween event. Another game that's slated to receive a new holiday event is Blizzard Entertainment's "Overwatch," which was released in May.

The latest news surrounding Blizzard's "Overwatch" is that a Christmas jingle was found by some data miners who made a cool discovery in the game. According to Gamespot, there's a Christmas jingle inside "Overwatch"'s files, which indicate that there is a new holiday event coming soon.

While Blizzard hasn't made any official announcements yet, "Overwatch" fans are looking forward to a new holiday event this Christmas. Fans are expected to see new decorations on maps, as well as new Christmas-themed skins for players to show off. In addition, there may be also sprays and player icons in the upcoming new holiday event for "Overwatch."

In the meantime, Eurogamer reports that the expected new holiday event for "Overwatch" may include a festive lootboxes, wrapped presents, and most likely an appearance from Santa Claus himself. Now that the Christmas jingle hints at new holiday event, it may include anew Arcade or Brawl mode, which would be interesting to explore.

In addition, the Christmas jingle isn't the only indicator for an "Overwatch" new holiday event. There's also several sound files that feature hero interactions, mostly with the new character Sombra. There's also a sound file of Zarya and Reinhardt armwrestling.
