Amell recently answered fans' questions about the future of Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak in "Arrow" Season 5, "Invasion." A fan wondered if the upcoming episode will see the couple apart. The fan asked if Amell is fine with the characters dating other people.
Of course, the actor accepted this plot change in "Arrow" Season 5, "Invasion." He reasoned that it is just a TV show, so anything can happen. Amell likewise admitted that he does not mind seeing Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak date other people.
"You don't always get what you want," Stephen Amell said, as quoted by Comicbook.
Did the actor just hint that Oliver and Laurel Lance's wedding will push through in "Arrow" Season 5, "Invasion." One of the photos that The CW released for the crossover episode shows Laurel with Oliver. She is in a wedding gown.
Meanwhile, another photo shows Laurel preparing for a wedding, probably her own, with the help of her sister Sara. The images worried Olicity fans and made them wonder if they will no longer see Oliver with Felicity in future episodes. Worse, the photos for "Arrow" Season 5, "Invasion," show Felicity engaged to Ray Palmer.
However, as what Amell said, anything can happen in the show. He reminded the fans that they should be grateful that Felicity is even alive. Felicity could have ended up dead too, since "Arrow" Season 5, "Invasion," occurs in an alternate timeline.
According to the synopsis, in "Arrow" Season 5, "Invasion," Oliver wakes up to a different reality. He is not the Green Arrow, because the shipwreck never happened. His parents are still alive and so is Laurel Lance. He is not married to Felicity Smoak, but instead he is engaged to Laurel.
