CinemaBlend has just recently reported a new record set by "Doctor Strange." Not only surpassing the success of "Iron Man," "Doctor Strange" is now actually the most successful movie in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) as a single-character hero.
According to Deadline, "Iron Man" may have produced an impressive statistics, earning $585 million, but "Doctor Strange" broke the record by crossing $616 million globally.
Admittedly, "Doctor Strange" is a lesser-known superhero when people have "Iron Man" as a reference. However, "Doctor Strange" came in as a surprise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is maybe due to the curiosity of fans to delve on the story of a new hero.
Reports suggest that many people may have thought that it is worth it to shell out cash in welcoming "Doctor Strange." It is contrary to the premise of the people behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They really thought that the viewers may not be willing to explore new origins.
Now that "Doctor Strange" is a huge success, it gave Marvel Studios the idea that the fanbase is very much engaging to the expansion of Marvel Cinematic Universe. It now came to their knowledge how well-received their brand is and they should be committed into growing and improving.
In the phase three of "Marvel Cinematic Universe," Stephen Strange or "Doctor Strange" is not the only hero. Marvel Studios is expecting the same overwhelming support from the viewers for the new titles.
