'Supergirl' News And Rumors: The Dominators Are Set To Return

The major Arrowverse crossover event kicked off in tonight's episode of "Supergirl" entitled "Medusa", in which Kara Danvers (played by Melissa Benoist) is enlisted by Barry Allen and Cisco (Grant Gustin and Carlos Valdes from "The Flash") to help defeating an alien race. That race is of The Dominators, highly advanced alien geneticists who have their eyes on the genetic potential of the human race.

While The Dominators did not appear in the episode, "Supergirl" exec producer Andrew Kreisberg told CBR that the nasty-looking aliens will return later into the season. "Thisis  not the last you've seen of The Dominators. The Dominators will return on Supergirl later this season." The series, of course, is nearing its midseason break; it is safe to assume that we will be seeing The Dominators much later into the season.

The Dominators' appearance as villains in the four-way crossover was first announced in September, with executive producer Marc Guggenheim noting that the crossover will be fateful adaptation of the comic book arc from which the crossover is inspired. "We're using cutting-edge prosthetics and computer effects to achieve a feature film-quality look which is faithful to 'Invasion!' artist Todd McFarlane's interpretation of the characters," Guggenheim said in a press release.

Kreisberg's tease about The Dominators returning to the series is telling. Since the threat manifests on Earth-1, it is still unsure how the baddies will become those on Kara Danver's Earth, seeing that they are unable to travel between alternate Earths. We'll have to wait and see how the series will pull it off.

"Medusa" is obviously only the first episode among the four-part crossover, which ends with Thursday's episode of "DC's Legends Of Tomorrow" titled "Invasion!" The crossover continues with Tuesday's episode of "The Flash" and Wednesday's episode of "Arrow" both titled the same as that of "Legends".
